Social Media Intern

 

THE ROLE:

The Social Media Intern will play an integral role in developing brand awareness and managing digital communication for our growing community. The Intern will research and develop a cross-platform social media strategy for both organic and paid posts. We’re looking for someone eager to change the culture around consent and focused on initiating dialogue that everyone can engage in, regardless of their gender, age, political preferences, educational background, and beliefs. Successful candidates will have a deep understanding of how to develop content that appeals to, and is inclusive of, a wide audience – finding ways to engage communities that are not already part of this conversation as well as those who are.

  • Dedicated to sexual violence prevention, consent education, and creating a safer sexual culture.

  • Passionate about start-ups, entrepreneurship and social media.

  • Comfortable working within a self-directed culture and taking initiative, but also asking for help when needed.

  • Independent and flexible.

  • Able to work at odd hours, such as weeknights and weekends – it’s a start-up, after all!

  • Fun, creative, and good humored!

 

ReSPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

  • Help create the social media strategy for Let’s Be Clear.

  • Launch a Twitter page for Let’s Be Clear.

  • Post on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter every 1-2 days and manage interactions on social media, such as responding to comments and messages.

  • Research best practices for both organic and paid posts.

  • Create KPIs, records metrics, and analyze data.

  • Encourage others to comment on our posts and share them with others.

  • Increase the number of people who like/follow Let’s Be Clear.

  • Diversify the demographic of those who engage with us through Social Media by creating new content and interacting with diverse communities online.

  • Develop email-marketing campaigns.

  • Ability to attend team meetings (2-4 per month).

  • Ability to set, work on, and meet deadlines.

  • Dedicate 4-6 hours per week to Let’s Be Clear.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate's Degree, or currently pursuing a degree – relevant experience may be considered as a substitution to a degree

  • Strong knowledge of social media channels (specifically Facebook, Twitter and Instagram).

  • Experience with B2C social media marketing (preferred).

  • Experience with sexual violence prevention and consent education (preferred).

  • Driven team player eager to take responsibility and lead a project through to completion.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Located in the Boston area (preferred).

 

COMPENSATION:

Commensurate with experience.
